Provision of a Smart Grid and Transmission Line Test Rig(s) for the University of Sunderland - The School of Engineering at the University is looking to purchase a smart grid and transmission line test rig(s) setup which is suitable for: o All test rig or rigs should come with both the necessary and additional recommended test equipment, software, power supply/supplies and accessories to ensure full functionality of the test rig(s) system. o Modular integration of renewable energies test rigs where applicable. o Each test rig frame panel should be width <1300mm, depth <800mm and height <2000mm. o All relevant electrical and mechanical safety considerations built into the design. o To be supplied with interactive/multimedia training course materials/operating instructions from the manufacture. o Be able to perform a range of experiments on the rig(s) including three-phase busbar, coupling, open-circuit transmission, circuit breaker overtime behaviours. o Be able to perform a range of experiments on the rig(s) including complex loads, load monitoring and power consumption analysis - using a range of resistance, induction, and capacitance loads. o Allow for the investigation of dynamically alternating loads, power generation and intelligent energy management. o Allow for the investigations of three-phase transmission lines, cables, earth-fault compensation, power networks, load voltage regulation and protection overvoltage/undervoltage. o Have a wind power plant facility which allows for synchronisation to the grid. o Measuring instrumentation to be provided with various communication interfaces to allow for PC control from user input. o Power Engineering software must be provided for the intelligent control and evaluation of smart grids, with necessary displays(s). o Power Engineering software to allow for simulation work where appropriate. The necessary software and any training manuals/exercises for students to complete when in the laboratory environment must be supplied in electronic format The warranty period must be a minimum of one year.

Temporary Electrics, Water and Site Services (WP39.1) - Old Oak Common (S4) Station - HS2 - Temporary Electrics, Water and Site Services WP39.1 scope consists of the design, supply, installation and site testing of all additional temporary electrics, water and other site services required during the constructions of the whole project which includes HS2 and GWML stations plus Shared Accommodation Building (SAB) at Old Oak Common Station. All works to be as required during the construction and commissioning and comply fully with the Standards and Guidance documents, as identified in its section 5. Particularly HS2 standards and British Standards 7671:2018 and 7430 2011. Scope of works will include:- • Relocation of HV Transformers, Main Distribution Units (MDUs) and HV Cabling • Control of switching for HV supplies • Relocation of LV MDUs and cabling • Installation of temporary lighting • Relocation and supply of additional Road lighting • Relocation and supply of additional 110V Transformers, cabling, and socket boxes • Modify existing, supply and Installation of new MDUs • Modification of existing, supply and Installation of new vehicle changing units • Re-cabling tower cranes and plant power supplies and lightning suppression units as they are moved to suit the project programme • Progressive removal of electrical installation at completion of the project • Installation of additional vehicle and plant changing points • Periodic electrical testing for BS7671 and PAT requirements • Relocation, adjustment, and additional site 200mm and 80mm water mains, including values, chambers, and meters • Relocation of Hydrant mains and Hydrants • Modifications to site over pumping and power supplies • Additional temporary fire mains within the construction project • Installation of standpipes • Disinfection of water pipework • Modifications to site WIFI systems • Modifications to site wide BMS electric and Water meter connections • Changes to the site drainage systems • Maintain and relocation of site ventilation system • Relocation and powering of wheel wash and weight bridge The subcontractor is to develop designs to include the installation processes, commissioning, testing and maintain a detailed set of drawings plus operation and maintenance manuals for the temporary installation. Liaison with BBVS, WSP (main designers) and other Subcontractors will be required in the all works area. Contract will be NEC3 ECC Option E

Electrical Components Tender - The Cornwall Marine Hydrogen Centre (CMHC) will offer independent expertise and testing facilities for hydrogen fuel cell electric propulsion systems for marine vessels. It will specialise in equipment and systems for leisure and commercial vessels up to 18m in length. This market, which is estimated to be over 30 million vessels worldwide, is currently powered mostly by diesel, and will need to be replaced by clean propulsion systems to meet Net Zero goals. Part-funded by an ERDF research grant, the CMHC will be based at the University of Exeter's Renewable Energy faculty in Cornwall. Individual components or whole hydrogen propulsion systems will be tested and monitored in a purpose-built facility, providing technology providers with independent validation and accelerated product development. The delivery partners provide a unique blend of world-class Renewable Energy and Marine Engineering expertise. Pure Energy Professionals (PEP) has a 30-year track record of working with manufacturers and investors in renewable energy and has been at the forefront of new technology adoption. The University of Exeter is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive UK universities, and is in the top ten for renewable energy. The current focus of the CMHC is to build the test rig, with a demonstration hydrogen electric propulsion system, using commercially available components. The Electrical components are the items to be procured in this tender. The purchase, build and commissioning of the test rig and demonstration system must be completed by the end of 2022.
