The Consortium's key objectives for the project are: o To provide continuity of service to members as the existing contract comes to an end. o To meet the emerging requirements for Network Services. o To use the capital investment to stimulate a wider market interest and commitment to deploying gigabit capable fibre infrastructure that would also benefit residents, communities and businesses across the current Link geography. o To build a consortium of public sector organisations that can scale across the South East of England to provide a joined up and single sourcing route for the wider public sector, e.g. schools, health and blue light. o To deliver Social Value and Societal Benefits to the South East Grid consortium. It seeks to understand how a city system functions and how different parameters interact (e.g. heat island effect and green spaces, flooding and traffic congestion). The majority of our sensor data is made available under an open licence. More information is available at www.urbanobservatory.ac.uk. Data provided by the observatory is used by researchers, local authorities, and members of the public.
