Brewood and Coven Parish Council Bishops Wood Playing Field 2024 - The contractor / works will be required to: • To create a more exciting, bright and dynamic area of our play area, that offers accessible and interesting play opportunities. • To remove existing timber castle multi play unit, wooden bench and basket swing frame • All equipment proposed must be Steel structure, hot dip galvanised as a minimum. • No wooden or timber equipment will be accepted. • All Steel structures to have a minimum 30 years warranty by the manufacturer • We aim to include 7 new pieces of equipment including a multi play unit with multiple activities and slide, an accessible spinning item, a roto-moulded basket swing, somersault bars, and 3 or more balance items to fill the space. • The multi-play area would need to consist of 2 or more access/climbing options, 2 towers, a slide, a musical play panel, fireman's pole and a tube joining the two towers together. Refurbishment of Children's Play Area - Willoughton Parish Council - This project seeks to refurbish and revitalise the existing children's play area on Willoughton playing field by the introduction of new pieces of play equipment, together with the laying of additional safety surfacing. To help achieve this, it is proposed that all existing play equipment will be removed, with the exception of a slide. The Council's objective is to create playable spaces that offer young people access to as wide a range of play opportunities as possible. The play area is required to meet the needs of children from toddler age through to 12 years. The Council is keen to see the following types of new elements within the play area (subject to available space and Health and Safety guidelines): (i) Wheelchair-inclusive roundabout (ii) Stand in see-saw (iii) Single inclusive springer (iv) Basket swing (v) 2 x flat seat swings (vi) 1 x toddler swing (vii) 1 x "Me-to-you" type swing (to be used by child and parent simultaneously. (xiv) Safe surfacing The Council would like to see a site that is innovative, and which encourages and enables physically active play, and which is attractive to children from toddler age through to 12 years. Play activities should be open-access, with children free to move independently between them. There is also a need for the overall design to be a welcoming and restful place for parents with younger children to meet and socialise. All works materials and parts should as a minimum, comply with both the British and European Standards for playground equipment, outdoor gym equipment and surfacing, and be easy and affordable to maintain, with replacement parts readily available. Installation: The contractor shall supply and secure the play area, in accordance with H&S guidelines, for the duration of the work. All rubbish and excess spoil are to be removed from site by the contractor at the end of the construction works, to include reinstatement and making good, as agreed with the Buyer, to grass areas and existing surfaces. Provision and installation of new play equipment & outdoor gym - Invitation to tender (ITT) - Introduction Rackheath Community Council is seeking to award a contract for the supply and installation of new play equipment & outdoor gym; on land it manages at Stracey Playing Field. This includes the supply and installation of any required or appropriate groundworks and safety surfacing. All works materials and parts should comply with both the British and European Standards for playground equipment, outdoor gym equipment and surfacing. The Invitation to Tender is being procured under the Parish Council's open tender process; This document provides applicants wishing to tender for the contract with the requirements, standards and conditions under which the procurement will be operated. Lot 1 - New Play Equipment; Background & Objectives Rackheath Community Council has developed plans to install additional exciting and modern play equipment and an outdoor gym on Stracey Playing Field. These plans site base works preparation and a wet pour surface. The structure must be innovative and physically challenging; suited to a broad age range of children, from pre-teen to young adults. One of the main aims is to improve the play experience for children by delivering a high-quality, low-maintenance play area. The challenge is to provide all-inclusive apparatus that caters to all age ranges with stimulating pieces that children are excited to use. Given the anticipated heavy use of the play area, equipment must be robust and vandal-proof. The design must include seating for both rest and also 'picnic style' to encourage families to stay longer, these should be on a level, secure base. The design should consider enclosing the play area with fencing that compliments the overall design and area. Lot 2 - Outdoor Gym; Background & Objectives The installation of outdoor fitness equipment that meets the needs of Rackheath residents both current and future, including adults, children, people with disabilities and special educational needs. General Information Budget As a guide, the estimated cost to the Community Council for this contract will be approximately: Lot 1 - £150,000.00, exclusive of VAT. Lot 2 - £50,000.00, exclusive of VAT. Any bidder wishing to bid on both lots, may combine this budget into a total of £200,000 for both lots, but must include a breakdown of costs per lot in their submission.
