Design for Improvement, Supply and Fit - 4x Play Areas - Tendring District Council are seeking designs for the improvement of four separate play areas. Designs should complement the area with consideration of use of colour, type of material used, landscaping and the addition to the play value and variety of the park. Any new equipment is to be as inclusive as possible to allow children of all abilities to play together as well as being challenging to the age of children the site is designed for. All quotations should include design, supply, and fit of any new equipment including any safety surfacing requirements, planning permission requirements, removal of waste, surveying costs and any welfare facilities. A site visit is recommended especially for access requirements. Designs can include a scale plan of the area and a breakdown of costs. A description of the equipment and why it has been included in the design is beneficial. Bidders can bid on one or more of the play areas. Dates to complete the work will be discussed with bidders for each area.

GB-Telford: Play equipment - Poolside - The contract is for the replacement of recently removed play equipment (a large multi-unit) at Poolside in Horsehay, Telford and safer surfacing (using the Annual RoSPA report as guidance) together with the removal of the 2 existing 5 a side goalposts and safer surfacing and their replacement (including a replacement surface to prevent wear to the goalmouth). (The project costs are to be in the region of, but no more than (excluding VAT) £21,000 (twenty one thousand pounds) It is anticipated that the replacement multi-unit will be placed in the newly grassed area where the previous multi-unit was located, but will need to ensure that there is not a clash of activities caused by use of the 5 a side area and the potential for ball loss into the play area. Activities to be provided for: The multi-unit should have the potential for social games and general socialising opportunities, climbing, balancing, hanging, scrambling, sliding, integrated play. 2 replacement five a side goals with backs to prevent ball loss into the surrounding area and replacement surfacing to prevent goalmouth wear and tear. To cater primarily for children aged from 3-12 years of age The specification for ground works (including materials to be used) is to be included with this tender. Equipment, surfacing and design must meet/exceed BSEN 1176 / BSEN 1177 compliance. All equipment is to be firmly anchored to the ground by methods to the satisfaction of the Contract Administrator and have appropriate signage attached Prior to the official acceptance of the completed play area by the Contract Administrator, a post installation inspection will be undertaken by ROSPA on behalf of the Contract Administrator and at the expense of the Contractor. Penzance Council has set aside a budget of £80,000 to carry out these works Your submitted price must not exceed this figure. If you feel that additional value could be added to the project for more than the budgeted figure, you may submit this to Penzance Council, but it must form a separate tender response. Whilst responses exceeding £80,000 may be considered by Penzance Council, it must be made clear that Penzance Council is under no obligation to do so and intends to complete the work for the budgeted figure of £80,000 Additional Information: • Penzance Council is looking for an improvement to the site with consideration given to the longevity and minimal maintenance with low-cost spare parts readily available. A list of spare parts and a price list will be looked on favourably. • Post Installation Inspection - Please allow for an independent written inspection report following completion of the works and any noted defects/risks will need to be attended to and resolved before the scheduled open date noted in the table below.
