(NU/1762) Supply and Installation of an Upgraded Spinning Disk Imaging System - Newcastle University requires a high specific spinning disk confocal microscope with a microlens disk capable of detecting very low intensity probes at super-fast imaging speeds in confocal mode whilst minimising photobleaching. The system will be built around an existing microscope (Leica DMRBE), adapted for live imaging of C. elegans embryos. This tender process is a further competition from Lot 2 of The APUC Supply of Microscopes and Imaging Equipment (LAB1015AP). The scope of the contract is for the delivery, installation and commissioning of all the parts required to upgrade our current microscope with the specifications indicated in section 3. A minimum of 12 months warranty, options for servicing and maintenance and after sales service is required. The warranty, maintenance and servicing shall begin following commissioning of the system.

CEFAS22-51 Olympus Microscope - Cefas require a high-power inverted light microscope, manufactured by Olympus, with the following objectives: LCAchN 10x/0.25 PhC ∞/-/fn22. LCAchN 20x/0.40 PhC ∞/1/fn22. LCAchN 20x/0.55 Ph2 ∞/1/fn22. The microscope needs to have an ultra-long condenser so that a chamber of 5cm height can fit underneath, 2 x10 eyepieces, one with a graticule, and a drop-down binocular head. Upright wide field microscope with the capability to be controlled and accessed remotely for teaching and research. - The microscope will be funded as part of a BBSRC Midlands Open bioimaging award and will be used as a remote controlled microscope for teaching and research. We have recently installed two new High Content Imaging systems which were supplied with a suite of bespoke software and cloud processing. The plans are to connect these systems and the new wide field microscope through Zeiss Datastore and operating software to create a microscopy facility that can be controlled and accessed externally by students, research staff, collaborating universities and external research companies. To control and use the microscopes to their full capability requires operation through Zeiss Datastore and Zen OS.
