Live Cell Imaging System - Supply, installation and commissioning of Live Cell Imaging System, for undergraduate teaching activities in the University's new flagship Diamond Building, due to open in September 2015. Warranty and service contracts for 3 or more years is required. We require a device to monitor living cells in culture and quantitatively measure multiple parameters of their physical activity and biochemical activity over time. The device must provide the correct environmental conditions to maintain human and animal cells or cells lines in monolayer culture viable by means of temperature, humidity and atmospheric control. We require both light microscopy and fluorescence microscopy of multiple regions of interest recorded over time in multiple cultures with data recorded by computer and made available in readily accessible formats.

1233/LF Electrophysiology Microscope system - The University of Sheffield is out to tender on behalf of the Department of Biomedical Science for a an electrophysiology microscope system . We are currently setting up a new laboratory with a research programme focused on the study of sensory processing and learning & memory, combining studies at molecular, cellular, systems, and behavioural levels. During this start-up stage of the laboratory, we require an adaptable, modular and inexpensive electrophysiology microscope system for recording from Drosophila neurons in vivo. This tender is one of 2 separate but interlinked tenders that contribute towards our investment in setting up a new laboratory in our Department of Biomedical Science. The linked tender is 1232/LF Multi photon microscope. We recognise that some suppliers may only be able to bid against one of the tenders and others may wish to bid for both. If you are bidding against both tenders we would encourage you to provide details of any additional discounts that would be available to us in the relevant pricing tables. This is a non-EU, open procurement procedure. The ITT and full specification and supporting documents can be downloaded by registering and expressing your interest on the University's e-tendering system https://in-tendhost.co.uk/Sheffield.
