Play area Equipment design and installation - Design and install a new play park for Buckland Monachorum Parish Council at Seaton Way, Crapstone that caters for a wide range of ages and is inclusive and accessible. The swings that are currently there will need to be removed and disposed of. All other equipment will remain and can be incorporated into the design. Play equipment should cater for a wide range of ages eg 0-3 (toddler), 3-12 (children) and 10-20 (youth). The equipment must include swings including an inclusive nest swing and some form of activity centre. Consideration must be given to safety. The equipment should be easy to maintain, incur low maintenance costs and be robust. The equipment should be mainly constructed of recycled plastic for robustness and longevity in the Dartmoor Climate. To supply new safety surfacing where appropriate that complies with the relevant British/European safety standards. There is no preferred finish, however it must not be loose fill. Details must be provided about preparation of the sub-base. It is expected that all new surfacing will be laid on a sub-base, not directly onto soil. The play area is an open site and suppliers are welcome to visit the site at their own convenience. Evaluation Criteria To ensure that tenders are evaluated fairly, there will be a scoring criteria. Which will evaluate the scheme on the following, Play Value, Inclusivity, Durability, Green Credentials and Future Maintenance Requirements. The Parish Council will collate its findings and make the final selection of the preferred contractor. The Parish Council's decision is final and will reflect the offer that most meets all the specifications and public expectations. Budget The Council has some reserves set aside and has been awarded S106 funding from a recent development. Additional grant funding is also being applied for. We welcome a variety of designs/options with a budget ranging from £50k to £60k. Timelines Designs and quotes should be sent by email to the Parish Council Friday 3rd May 2024.
