Period of Contract The work is expected to take between 1-2 weeks to complete. Contractors/Tenderer(s) Appointment It is anticipated that the Council will appoint a single provider that is a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor to provide the services at an agreed price and specification to the terms and conditions of this Tendering process. On the basis of the Tender submissions the Council will select the single provider to be appointed under the Contract in accordance with the suitability and award criteria as detailed within the tender documents to provide the services as listed within the Service Specification. The Council may reject a Tender where the Tenderer cannot meet all the requirements of the Service Specification. The Council does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender and reserves the right to terminate the procurement process at any stage prior to the signing of the Contract. Value of Contract The total estimated value is estimated to be in the region of £80,000.00 excluding VAT for the entire duration of the Contract. This DPS will run initially for two (2) years (from 1st September 2016 until 31st August 2018) with the option to extend for three (3) further twelve (12) month periods. The Council of the Borough of Kirklees (the Council) is conducting this Tender exercise in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and intends to establish a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the Supply and Delivery of Stocked Building Materials (the Goods) on a non-exclusive basis to meet its own organisational and business needs with suitably qualified Suppliers of Building Materials. 12217 - Demolition and Associated Works at Sapphire Tower - AWARD - The 20 storey dwelling known as Sapphire Tower, is of Wimpey No-fines construction, built post 1964. The tower block is no longer considered suitable for habitation, therefore the need for safe demolition and site clearance. The site is to be re-graded to surrounding levels at the end of the contract. Contractors wishing to tender for this contract must have 3 years of audited accounts showing a minimum annual average turnover of £3Million. The contractor must provide suitably trained workforce and experience/knowledge of works required to be undertaken. The contractor will be responsible for providing their own power, water and welfare to undertake this work. A Public/Product liability insurance of £5 million and Employers Liability Insurance of £10 million must be provided. The contractor must hold or employ persons with valid HSE asbestos license to be able to remove notifiable asbestos (if any). The contract will be let using the Intermediate Form of Contract 2011 (Option A) and Design and Build Contract 2011 (Option B) with Birmingham City Council amendments. The works is programmed to commence 02 November 2015 and be completed by 29 April 2016.
