Cow Green Car Park Demolition - The Council (Employer) has initiated this project to remove a deteriorating and increasingly unsafe structure from its asset portfolio. As such, the project is considered to be very high profile. The Council (Employer) intends to procure a main contractor to deliver the project that will include the demolition of a multi-storey car park known as Cow Green Car Park on Lister Lane, Halifax. 12217 - Demolition and Associated Works at Sapphire Tower - The 20 storey dwelling known as Sapphire Tower, is of Wimpey No-fines construction, built post 1964. The tower block is no longer considered suitable for habitation, therefore the need for safe demolition and site clearance. The site is to be re-graded to surrounding levels at the end of the contract. Contractors wishing to tender for this contract must have 3 years of audited accounts showing a minimum annual average turnover of £3Million. The contractor must provide suitably trained workforce and experience/knowledge of works required to be undertaken. The contractor will be responsible for providing their own power, water and welfare to undertake this work. A Public/Product liability insurance of £5 million and Employers Liability Insurance of £10 million must be provided. The contractor must hold or employ persons with valid HSE asbestos license to be able to remove notifiable asbestos (if any). The contract will be let using the Intermediate Form of Contract 2011 (Option A) and Design and Build Contract 2011 (Option B) with Birmingham City Council amendments. The works is programmed to commence 02 November 2015 and be completed by 29 April 2016. The successful contractor will need to demonstrate his ability to provide the service required, confirmation of conforming to demolition, asbestos and other relevant health and safety legislation, equalities and financial stability. The estimated value of the works is in the region of £500,000.00 to £1Million.
