LCCITS150009 Shared Lives ICT System - Leeds Shared Lives Service requires an ICT system to replace the current business processes and systems used to arrange referrals, to match carers with service users and arrange bookings and to process invoice payments. The Shared Lives service offers two types of service to the citizens of Leeds. A short breaks service to provide support to service users in the home of Shared Lives carers and a Outreach service which provides support to allow informal carers to take a break. The Scheme currently manages its core case recording, data and management information through a range of disparate spreadsheets, databases, documents and electronic folders as well as Local Authority Financial and Invoicing systems none of which interact together and the former operate inefficiently and are not robust in terms of consistency or accuracy. This system is resource heavy and relies on duplication of data being inputted.

Prior Information Notice - The appointment of an IT service provider(s) to deliver the University of Manchester's Phased Sourcing strategy. - Background The University of Manchester has recently announced a new IT Services “Phased Sourcing” strategy, under which the University intends to increasingly fulfil new IT requirements using solutions supplied by third parties and delivered “as a service”, rather than building and running solutions in house. The University has recently reviewed its existing IT estate and has defined an IT Strategic Plan intended to replace and modernise systems to ensure that the University’s IT services remain in step with the anticipated needs of students and staff. Execution of the IT strategic plan will require an estimated investment of between £50m and £150m spend over the coming three to five years. Objective The University is now looking to adopt a new IT delivery model, whereby it will contract with a third party IT provider (or potentially more than one provider) capable of delivering the bulk of the anticipated IT Strategic Plan over the years ahead. The selected IT provider(s) will be engaged on the basis of a University of Manchester specific framework agreement. Under this model, the intention is that the University would always retain the right to select other providers for specific technical requirements or in the event that the chosen IT provider(s) does not provide a compelling commercial or service delivery capability. The model is intended to provide the following benefits to the University: - Ready access to the levels of specialist skills and resources needed to deliver the anticipated level of new IT services in the years ahead - Greater integration between new IT services - A simplified approach to the integration of new services with existing University infrastructure - Greater value for money through leveraging the University’s buying power - Access to industry leading best practice and innovation - Greater levels of certainty that new projects and services will be delivered on time, to budget and to agreed service levels

Insight Team SQL Data Warehouse - This procurement was run via the Digital Market Place / G-Cloud Staffordshire’s Customer Insight team conducted a review of their function with a view to understanding how the function is operating and where / how efficiencies could be derived. They identified that a significant amount of effort within the Customer Insight Team is associated with gathering, cleansing and producing datasets for research work and report production. In addition a disproportionate amount of time is spent searching for data. Data is requested from business units, systems, and both licenced & open data sources. Data is either duplicated numerous times or awaiting responses from already busy colleagues across the organisation. To operate efficiently the Customer Insight team has identified a need to develop a centralised data store on which they can overlay their existing BI tools e.g. a data warehouse, or data mart which provides:- • Researchers can easily access data that has originated from multiple data sources, with the aspiration to link them together with historical reference. • The Customer Insight data management team can create a single point of access to data. • Geographical data should be included with all data domains (or other appropriate geo-coding methodologies) to enable the ease in which software can be used to generate outputs. • Data requests could be automated to support the organisational needs for data reports and standard outputs. • Data maintenance can be done in a more systematic and efficient manner. • Fast and efficient modifications can be made to extracted data and the structure of attributes (either columns or lookup tables) in support of customer requests. • There is a flexible solution that allows for ‘staging data’ whereby data is required but has not yet been formally introduced into the data warehouse / domain structure. • Quickly and efficiently share data between departments and partner organisations.
