Provision of a Gas Servicing Contract ICT Solution - Provision of a Gas Servicing Contract ICT Solution Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) is responsible for the risk and maintenance of gas appliances under Landlords responsibility which encompasses approximately 26,000 serviceable properties and over 60,000 gas fitments. For a number of years this responsibility has been carried out by a third party using council staff to deliver the service. With effect from 1st August 2015, this service will transfer back to the council. This will involve the reintegration of up to 70 Gas Servicing engineers with the existing Gas Repairs team. The purpose of this commission will be to review the key business requirements of the returning business function, to translate these into technology requirements and to determine how they might be met by the IT systems already in place or soon to be introduced within the gas repairs function. The outcome of the review should identify any adjustments that might need to be made to the existing ICT solution; highlight any outstanding business decisions that will need to be made to facilitate effective use of the system; identify approximate costs and timeline for delivery of the proposed solution including any interim arrangements that may need to be made or alternative options for delivering the required outcomes which can be presented back to senior managers within this business function. Organisations are invited to present their proposal in relation to how they would undertake this work and the cost of delivery. Due to the urgency of this work bidders must be able to mobilise quickly following acceptance of the bid. Please submit your proposal via email to janette_coughlan@sandwell.gov.uk by no later than 5.00pm on 29/5/2015
