Community Perceptions Research - This is for a research project to better understand the impact of hotspot policing on serious violence and other crime and anti-social behaviour and on community perceptions. The Violence and Complex Crime Unit in Leicestershire Police have been delivering hotspot policing in areas identified as having high levels of serious violence for a number of years which has contributed to reductions in the severity of offences committed in these areas. While the impact of hotspot policing on serious violence continues to be evaluated locally, we are keen to understand how this approach is perceived by individuals and communities who live in and around hotspot areas. The overall aims of the project are to gain a better understanding of: o The impact of hotspot policing on serious violence and other crime and anti-social behaviour. o The public awareness of hotspots policing patrols. o The public perceptions of the effectiveness of hotspots patrols. o The influence patrols have on feelings of safety, perceptions of and confidence in the police o how all of the above vary by subject demography and whether the hotspots patrol were during core night-time economy times or not.

Supporting Communities through Community Asset Transfer - Quotations are invited by the Council of the Borough of Kirklees (the "Council") from Suppliers with relevant experience and ability to demonstrate sufficient capacity for Supporting Communities through Community Asset Transfer in Kirklees (the "Services"). Community Asset Transfer (CAT) is the transfer of ownership and management of public land and buildings from the Council to a community organisation. Assets are transferred at less than market value for local social, economic or environmental benefits. The primary purpose of CATs in Kirklees is to invest in communities, and we will go the extra mile to help communities achieve their aspirations. This means: • transfers are a way to empower communities. • we will find ways to promote asset transfers in our place-based community engagement work as an option for communities to achieve their aspirations; and • we will build and maintain a relationship with groups before, during, and after transfer to ensure that the asset continues to be available for the community To help the Council achieve this we require a third-party Supplier to help support voluntary and community sector groups access information and help them through the CAT process This contract is anticipated to commence on 1st February 2024 and will expire on 31st January 2026 with the provision to extend for two (2) further twelve (12) month periods.

Risked Based Verification Automated Risk Scoring contract for New Claims and Change in Circumstances - London Borough of Lambeth (LBL) Benefit Service is seeking a Service Provider with the appropriate product range, experience, and competitive pricing to provide automated Risk Based Verification for Housing Benefit & Council Tax Support New Claim & Change in Circumstance forms submitted online. Lambeth Benefits Service have been using automated risk scoring with our online electronic New Claim (E-claim) and Change in Circumstances (E-CIC) forms since 2009 and 2014, respectively. Each E-claim and E-CIC form is automatically risk scored at the point of submission. This involves RBV software reviewing the data provided in submitted forms to determine risk factors and providing an appropriate risk score (either low, medium, or high risk). This then determines the level of verification required. Evidence requirements for low risk claims/changes are reduced, decreasing the time to process them. Greater activity is, therefore, targeted toward checking cases deemed to be at higher risk of involving fraud and/or error. Currently, for New Claims only, we utilise a separate software solution that enables us to capture and validate applicant's identities by checking their name, date of birth and address provided against the identity verification supplier's data sources, to establish if their identity exists. This further reduces the need for applicants to provide documentary evidence and helps to prevent and detect fraud. The risk score has no bearing on the identity check, however. Therefore, if the New Claim is determined as high risk, it does not mean that it will fail the identity check. A New Claim could also be high risk but still pass the ID checks. Conversely, if a claim is low risk, the customer could still fail the ID check. In Lambeth, approximately 7,000 Housing Benefit & Council Tax Support E-claims and 2500 E-CIC forms are risk scored annually. However, due to process changes due to occur in 2024/25, the figure for E-CICs will increase substantially. The total contract duration is 2+1+1 years. Lambeth Benefit Service hope to award this new contract from 1st April 2024. The closing Date for this RFQ is 16/02/2024 at 5pm. You will find all the relevant information attached to this Notice.
