The route selected has approximately 6,000 properties per week. The survey will examine collections of 4 waste streams: • General waste fortnightly • Recycling Fortnightly • Garden waste fortnightly • Glass 4 weekly In order to obtain meaningful data, it will be necessary to not only record which households are participating (participation rate), but also the frequency at which they present their various containers (set out rate). As glass is only collected monthly, the survey will need to be undertaken over a minimum period of 9 weeks. Therefore in order to provide sufficient data and avoid school holidays, the survey will need to take place over the period from 16.05.16 to 15.07.16. Detailed addresses and maps will be supplied for all routes. Collection of each separate type is from the same households, but the crews follow different routes and operate at different speeds and bidders should take this into account when preparing their method of data capture. The pattern of collections is shown in the specification.
