The Authority is seeking an experienced sales and marketing company with a proven track record and understanding of air show type events. The sales and marketing company will be required to raise £150,000 to deliver a minimum two (2) day Air Show Event in Torbay over a weekend in June 2016. The Authority has secured a start up fund of £60,000 from the Coastal Communities Fund. This funding must bring in at least five million pounds (£5,000,000) in new business and spending to the economy of Torbay through the event. The event must be sustainable year after year. The event is expected to be supported by at least 150,000 visitors across the two days of the event and, if similar to Weston-Super-Mare, Bournemouth, Dawlish and Eastbourne Air Shows, attendance could be much higher. The Air Show is expected to be the largest event delivered in Torbay in terms of visitor numbers in recent years. A Tender will be issued shortly for the provision of an air show consultant to provide aircraft over the weekend with a timetable.
