Leicestershire County Council Facilities Management - The Council is undertaking a procurement exercise to appoint either a single Supplier or multiple Suppliers for Facilities Management (FM) services to its entire corporate property estate across Leicestershire. This ‘Corporate Provision’ is funded via the Council’s own internal budgets. The successful supplier(s) will also deliver services to the Council’s external customers (e.g. schools, academies, district councils, police forces, fire brigades etc.) The Council effectively trades these FM services to generate income and this ‘Traded Provision’ is funded via the individual budgets of the external customers. These external customers are located within Leicestershire and the East and West Midlands. This contract will be split into 2 sperate contracts (Contract 1 and Contract 2). For each contract, the 6 highest scorers for each lot will progress to the 2nd stage of the process and will be invited to tender. The Council reserves the right to progress less than 6 bidders to stage 2 at its discretion. Should any of the top 6 bidders not meet the minimum requirements, the Council reserves the right to progress less than 6 bidders to stage 2. The support aims to help freelancers and micro businesses grow and thrive by providing tailored support that responds to their needs, referring them to other appropriate resources, services and industry bodies, and establishing region-wide networks. This package of support will cover in-depth diagnosis of business plans, potential for new products/services and assessment of their legal constitution, maturity, resilience, including how predisposed businesses are for high-growth. Birmingham City Council (the Council) is seeking a supplier to provide an Access to Innovation Ecosystem Support Offer to supplement this package of Business Support. The Supplier will deliver specialist, tailored support which provides proven pathways to accessing the Innovation Ecosystem for these 10 businesses. The supplier must work in collaboration with The Council's Growth Hub and be open to collaborating within the emerging West Midlands Inclusive Innovation Network. This offer may include access to innovative digital facilities, membership to peer networks, access to 3D printing and Virtual Reality/Augmented Realty technologies, group mentoring, co-working facilities, support around production innovation and prototyping. Specific business mentoring may include support around, marketing, pitching, liaison with investors, and innovative business planning. The offer should support businesses on their route to net zero transition, help them define environmental or social impact and ensure long-term viability and responsiveness to the needs of future markets. This program will be tailored to help businesses transform their operations, foster sustainability, and thrive in a rapidly changing business landscape. Businesses will be referred into this offer directly from the Growth Hub Business Support Package and may include businesses who have also benefitted from support delivered through the Fast Followers programme. PQ0499 - Access to new markets for med tech and health tech social enterprises (funded by Innovate UK via DIATOMIC project) - Birmingham City Council are looking for a supplier to offer a bespoke business support to a minimum of 10 Birmingham based social enterprises (businesses with social mission) interested in accessing health/med tech market. The aim of the pilot programme is to develop a base of the region's SMEs and social enterprises that have direct access to market. Access to market enables income generation, ensures growth and encourages social and technical innovation. It also breaks grant dependency which stifles growth especially in the social economy sector. The Provider will be required to create a comprehensive business support initiative aiming to improve essential tools, resources and guidance to help women-led and Black Asian and Minority Ethnic businesses thrive in today's competitive landscape and access the innovation ecosystem by enabling access to an existing health/care consortium who already hold contracts with the NHS/BCC. It is expected that the business support will cover the following specific objectives: - Supporting new businesses in joining an existing health/care consortium. - Tailored support delivered to a group of social entrepreneurs (including peer-to-peer mentoring, training and addressing barriers specific to the sector) resulting in 5 businesses joining the consortium and accessing real market opportunities. The provider of this contract needs to meet the following Specific Requirements: - represent a consortium of social enterprises who currently deliver contracts for the NHS, adult social care or similar contracts for the public sector; - be willing to expand their operations and accept new members and provide a bespoke support that would allow the new members to access new contracts. - design and deliver a bespoke business support focusing on the readiness to enter an existing consortium and participate in the delivery of an existing NHS; - be able to analyse the process and draw learning from it that could then be shared with the wider sector; - be open to collaborating within the WM Inclusive Innovation Network and share the learning from the process.
