NRW Electrical Vehicle Infrastructure Phase 1 - Site Assessments & Design Specification - To meet the Net Zero 2030 ambition, NRW aims to reduce its surface transport related GHG emissions by transitioning existing fleet of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to battery operated electric vehicles (EVs) by 2025. To realise this ambition NRW requires a fit for purpose and future proofed EV charging infrastructure (EVCI) that will support the following: · transition of the badged ICE fleet to EVs · support NRW's own staff, general public and other public bodies with transitioning from ICE to EVs This project will have 2 phases. The outcomes of the first phase are: • To carry out in depth assessments and physical site surveys of several sites as prioritised by NRW. The contractor must be prepared to travel across Wales to accommodate this requirement and must include all costs such as overnight stays, accommodation, expenses etc in its overall day rate/total cost. • The development of indicative designs and a technical specification for EVCI that will allow NRW to tender for the installation, operation and maintenance of EVCI (the 2nd phase of the project). This specification and tender are for phase 1 only. A separate tender and contract will be issued for phase 2 using the technical specification developed in phase 1. This competition is being run under CCS framework RM6213 Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Solutions (VCIS). Wafer Scale Cryostat - The EPSRC National Epitaxy Facility (NEF) at the University of Sheffield supplies a wide range of III-V semiconductor materials and devices primarily to the UK academic research community. The NEF also engages in significant activity researching and developing new materials and structures. Many of the materials produced by the NEF are intended for photonic and optoelectronic applications that often require photoluminescence based characterisation to determine material quality and compliance with design specifications. The NEF is seeking to purchase a cryostat/cooling system that can accommodate and facilitate optical access to a full 3 inch semiconductor wafer. The system must be capable of cooling the sample to a temperature of <10 K (Kelvins) with a guaranteed uniformity across the wafer of +/- <2 K. Furthermore, the NEF does not have easy access to liquid helium so the cryostat must be supplied with a compatible closed-cycle cooling system.
