Agreement for Motion Sensors (cycle path users) - Provision of a minimum of 6 motion sensors to gather movement data on cycle-path users. Must to able to differentiate between different types of users from a single sensor type i.e. • Pedestrians, including individuals within groups, with average speed • Cyclists, including individuals within groups, with average speed • Vehicles differentiated into different types, including individuals within groups, with average speed These Sensors must be able to provide real-time counts at (minimum) 5-minute periods for each classification of user, sending time stamps of when the user was detected in addition to movement patterns. Historical counts of the sensors at (minimum) 5-minute interval should also be available and accessible in the same way as the real-time counts. Sensors are to be lab tested and then trialled in different locations and environments, such as pedestrian footpaths and busy roads. The purchasing of the sensors will be phased to fit with the project plan, which is envisaged as follows:- • Phase 1 - 1 set of sensors (Q3/Q4 2019) • Phase 2 - 2 sets of sensors (Q1/Q2 2020) • Phase 3 - 3 sets of sensors (Q3/Q4 2020)

Supply and Installation of a Gravity Gradiometer for Underground Surveying - TENDER FOR THE SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF A GRAVITY GRADIOMETER FOR UNDERGROUND SURVEYING - UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM. REFERENCE: SC7401/19 This project is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the procurement is dependent on the final funding agreement. The University of Birmingham invites tenders for supply and installation of a transportable gravity gradiometer for the detection of underground targets such as buried infrastructure (culverts, sewers, tunnels), mineshafts or voids. This will be used to act as a characterisation tool for the UKCRIC National Buried Infrastructure Facility, to characterise test sites in the field for the Geophysics project within the Quantum Technology Hub in Sensors and Timing, and to provide currently unavailable gravity gradiometry data to the geophysics community. Moreover, the gradiometer and survey data will be continuously used for demonstration to end-users throughout the research programme, creating early market pull for the sensors coming being developed in the Hub. Overall budget for this item is up to £1,166,666.66 + VAT, delivery to the NBIF, training and manuals and warranties over the length of the hub grant.
