Alternative Metering Services - As part of Southern Water’s AMP8 (2025-2030) delivery programme, we aim to reduce overall demand for water, by cutting leakage by 13% and helping our customers become even more efficient by installing more than 1 million smart meters. The successful bidder would manage the overall service provision as a prime contractor, including the supply and ownership of Smart meters and associated devices, installation of those Smart meters, connecting them to an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) network, maintaining a service to provide Southern Water with at least hourly meter reading data every day and procured as an end to end financed solution. The successful bidder would own the meter assets, with Southern Water paying service fees over the term. Southern Water has a high percentage of metered customers (88%) through our pioneering Universal Metering Programme. By 2030, the successful bidder would upgrade our household meter estate of ~934k household meters, and 52k non-household meters, to Smart AMI enabled meters, incorporated into the service. The successful bidder would also install 34k new AMI enabled meters to currently unmetered customers. We expect a mix of standard, non-standard, and complex work types that will be managed through this arrangement.

SES Water Smart meter and associated services - Dear Bidder, SES Water is looking to procure AMI meters and associated services and systems to deliver a smart metered network in its area from 2024 and into AMP8 completing its delivery by the start of AMP9. This PIN is for the provision of Smart water meters (household and non-household) and associated services for customers throughout SES Water's geographical area (map in SQ attachments). In this regard it is aiming to set up framework agreement(s) with reputable partner(s) with proven track record of providing Smart Network Services to support with our move to Smart Metering. This will support the delivery of our AMP8 2025-2030 plan and into the delivery of our AMP9 2030-2035 plan. This requirement will be for the following services: -Lot 1 Supply of smart meters with Head End system - The AMI meters required are concentric type in various sizes, inline internal meters and for non-household applications upto 50mm. The total number of meters to be provisioned are 265,000 estimated with a split of 80% for external meters. - Lot 2 Network Services Provision -Lot 3 Exchange and installation of meters -Lot 4-Smart Meter maintenance services - Lot 5- Meter data management system for collating and analysing meter data in support of the AMI contract - Consortium offering to cover one or more of the lots above. - Financing of the metering programme (Optional) All services are as required to meet our service level agreements for customer meter data. SES Water is open to the option of a relationship with a single Supplier. Where a partnership, alliance or similar is required to deliver the end-to-end service requirements, SES Water requires a lead bidder to be identified, whom the contractual relationship will be established with. Suppliers are able to bid in multiple partnerships or as an independent bidder for one or more lots. No vendor/ lead bidder should prohibit another supplier from submitting their independent bids, should they wish to do so. Water Level Loggers - The University of Exeter is a rapidly expanding centre of internationally excellent research and education. As part of the CREWW project, we wish to procure a significant number of water level loggers. These will be deployed to measure surface water and ground water across multiple remote, upland, and lowland locations across the UK. We require a significant number of water level loggers to continuously monitor surface water depth, river channel stage and water table depth, across multiple experimental catchments and river monitoring locations across the UK. These will be deployed in remote, upland, and lowland locations to monitor temporal changes in water storage and realise from ecosystems. Consequently, the units required must be very rugged, have sufficient internal memory to allow the long-term recording of near continuous measurements (i.e. at a 15 min timestep) and episodic data retrieval.
