To accommodate this, the tender submission date has been extended to Wednesday 1 May 2024, 1400hrs.(Ailsa Craig Lighthouse is located on Ailsa Craig, an island in the Firth of Clyde, just offshore from Girvan, South Ayrshire at Latitude 55° 15.126'N, Longitude 005° 06.523'W. The lighthouse was established in 1886 to mark the west side of the main entrance into the Clyde. Designed by David Alan Stevenson and constructed by Hill and Son of Leith, the painted white stone tower stands 11 metres high at an elevation of 18 metres above sea level. The existing optic has a range of 17 nautical miles with a flashing white character (1) every 4 seconds. The Lighthouse station consists of a tower, engine room, control room, battery room, store room and domestic accommodation. The former lightkeeper's houses and all other buildings are privately owned. The main items of project work are as listed below:- 1.Carry out a full Asbestos Refurbishment / Demolition Survey on all NLB operational buildings prior to the commencement of any work. The survey, sample collection and sample analysis must be carried by a UKAS accredited contractor in accordance with ISO 17020, ISO 17025 and Health and Safety Executive Guidance Notes; HSG 248, Asbestos: The analysts' guide for sampling, analysis and clearance procedures" and HSG264, Asbestos: The survey guide. 2.The Principal Contractor is expected to test the existing 'HCL' fall arrest system and re-certify it if necessary before use. The Principal Contractor is to provide the Project Leader with all relevant test certification for record and audit purposes. 3.Deliver all plant, tools, materials, etc to NLB Oban packaged for helicopter under-slinging. 4.Land plant, tools, materials, etc on site and establish welfare facilities. 5.Carry out minor civil works and full redecoration of the lighthouse station. All tenders will be considered, regardless if the tenderer committed to attending the site visit on 26 March 2024, which was cancelled.(Pladda Lighthouse is situated on the pear-shaped Island of Pladda half a mile off the South East corner of Arran at Latitude 55o 25.5' N, Longitude 05o 07.3' W. The current light, which was automated in 1990, stands 29 meters high and is situated 40 metres above sea level. The light has a white flashing character (3) every 30 seconds giving a nautical range of 17 miles. The only property the NLB currently own on the Island is the lighthouse tower, the smaller tower below, the link corridor building between both towers, and the solar panel structure. All remaining buildings and land are privately owned. Due to the location of this site, the majority of materials and equipment will be transported to and from site via NLB Tender & Helicopter. GB-Edinburgh: Refurbishment Esha Ness Lighthouse 2025 - This contract opportunity is for the refurbishment of Esha Ness Lighthouse. Esha Ness Lighthouse is situated on the northwest coast of the mainland of Shetland, at a position of 60°29'21" North, 1°37'38" West. Esha Ness Lighthouse Tower and associated buildings are Category B listed. The square tower is approximately 11m high, accessed via an external porch. Welfare facilities are accessed separately from an external door. The general topography of the area consists of grass-covered grounds with adjacent rocky cliffs to the north. The station is enclosed by a post and wire fence. Esha Ness Lighthouse can be accessed by road and is a short drive from Lerwick. All plant and materials require to be delivered to the site by road. There are limited storage facilities within the lighthouse buildings. A full Asbestos Refurbishment/Demolition Survey on all buildings shall be required prior to commencing any works. It is a mandatory requirement prior to submitting a tender to attend the site, a date of 5th March 2024 has been arranged for the site visit. Submission of a programme with a proposed start date of 1st April 2025 with works taking place over a period of approximately nine months with completion required by December 2025 shall be required as part of the tender submission.

This lighthouse is situated on the island of Tiree, the most westerly island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, at Latitude 56.4985 'N, Longitude -6.8057 'W, and is accessible by foot, 150m from the B8065, or by all-terrain vehicle over firm, grassy ground. The proposed works principally involves the minor civil maintenance repair works and the application of decorative / protective coatings to the lighthouse tower.
