School Catering Contract for Appleby Grammar School - School catering services. This catering tender process is targeted to have a catering contract in place to commence on 1st September 2016. The process will include the creation of a select bidder list following analysis of PQQ documents (within which the scoring criteria is included). PQQ and tender documents are available electronically via request to the email address in section 1. Following analysis of PQQ's the selected bidders will be invited to attend a site survey and tender briefing initially planned for 2nd March 2016. Myton School - Catering Services - The successful tenderer will be required to provide catering services at Myton School. Myton School is a large secondary school within Warwick and it is expected that during the time of this contract the number of pupils on role will continue to grow. The contract covers the scope for the provision of all catering and vending services within the School, which also includes all hospitality and free issue requirements. The duration of the contract being offered is three years commencing on 1 August 2016 and concluding on 31 July 2019. The contract being offered within this tender will be based on a guaranteed performance basis with all free issue requirements and hospitality being recharged on consumption at “net” food cost only. It is expected that the contract will continue to run on a profit return with no subsidy ~ there is no subsidy associated with the contract. The School are looking for the successful tenderer to provide inward capital investment to refresh and rejuvenate the catering facilities, thus improving on the current provision and ensuring that the amount of time spent queuing by pupils is reduced within all break periods. It is also hoped that an exterior food service point can be established. The quality of food provision will be critical and your organisation must be flexible enough to source bakery, meat, fruit and vegetables and dairy products through local suppliers based no more than 20 miles from the School. It is expected that menus will feature and utilise products in season when available. Customer engagement will be fundamental to the continuous improvement in the service provision and within your tender response your methodology to this will need to be detailed along with examples of where this has been undertaken within similar contracts recently. The successful contractor should have similar operations within the local area, thus ensuring that the Operational Management Team responsible for the contract are available for regular unplanned visits and support for the contract, and that coverage for any planned or unplanned leave from within the establishment staffing structure can be easily provided.

C0228 - Birmingham's Schools Catering, Cleaning and Caretaking Services (Market Consultation) - Birmingham City Council is seeking to enter into an arrangement with a public sector partner that brings an improved, cost effective catering, cleaning and caretaking service to schools. This would be an alternative model of service delivery to Cityserve which is the current in-house provider of these services to schools in the Birmingham area. The Council’s vision is to establish a sustainable, co-ordinated, city-wide service for schools that can provide a better focus on nutritional needs, community engagement and social value. Cityserve is currently a viable trading entity with a turnover in excess of £38m and provides services to more than 300 schools. They currently have approx. 370 clients, over 500 service agreements / contracts in total (cleaning & catering) with over 2185 cleaning hours per day. Cityserve currently employs 2,000 staff, and, if a successful partner is found, it is envisaged that the majority of these staff will TUPE into the joint venture. The Council are seeking to set up a Teckal company compliant with Regulation 12 PCR 2015, to create a joint venture to deliver our vision for a world class catering and cleaning service and further enhance services provided to schools within Birmingham and beyond. Prospective Joint Venture partners will recognise the value and growth opportunities that already exist but can be improved upon further through investment in innovation, commercial freedoms and the application of intelligent IT systems. The aim is to build a Teckal company than can secure a successful long term future through investment and innovation, in return for being afforded this opportunity the Council will expect to receive both a significant rebate and an annual return of profits over a 10 to 15 year period.
