2023-109 Electricity Connections Reform capacity allocation - Expert consultancy support was required to identify, develop and assess approaches to allocating capacity released to customers seeking connection, as part of an ongoing review of connections. This work was critical to support the Buyer's strategic priority of enabling time-critical investment in infrastructure supporting faster connections and strategic electricity transmission system investments (onshore, offshore and cross-border). Work was needed to identify, develop and assess alternative approaches to allocating capacity made available to new and existing customers seeking connection or improvements to their connection dates, to facilitate connection of demand and generation necessary to meet net zero pathways and facilitate economic development in GB and improve customer's connection service. In summary, during the term of this Call Off Contract the support will provide the following services: Research, analyse and assess options for allocation and reallocation of electricity network capacity, taking account of the analytical framework and key in-puts established through the review of connections Consider suitability, consistency, implementation considerations and design adaptations as relevant Develop and provide recommendations relating to the optimal approach(es) to allocating and reallocating capacity under different circumstances

Subsea vs Floating Substations - Technoeconomic Comparison - ORE/23/013 - The Consultant will be required to define the floating and subsea systems for two case study sites. For consistency, baseline sites from previous FOW CoE projects will be used where possible. Gaps in knowledge and technology will be identified to define a roadmap towards commercial readiness by 2025 to 2030. Experience from previous/ongoing projects will play a key role in this task e.g. previous OREC projects on inter-array cable topology (DC06) and mooring and cable installation (DC07). Key uncertainties in this roadmap should also be defined. A cost comparison should be performed to set out which option would be preferable for a range of potential UK project configurations, subject to a range of assumptions and sensitivities. Finally, a sensitivity of lifetime costs to system reliability levels will be investigated.

Ecodesign Dishwasher Further 3's Testing 2023/24 - The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) is the appointed Market Surveillance Authority responsible for enforcing the Ecodesign Regulations for Energy-Related Products 2010, Energy Information Regulations 2011 and the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information Regulations 2021 within the UK. OPSS intend to assess and investigate selected products by inspecting the technical documentation and purchasing household appliances obtained from the UK market to test them against the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling requirements. This procurement is to get test facilities on board to undertake the testing work. To carry out further testing (+3s) of 3 selected dishwasher samples of the same model as a follow-up investigation of the first seven (7) dishwashers that was previously tested. The initial testing results show that three (3) of the model dishwashers failed and the other 3 passed. Hence, this is a follow-up test for the 3 samples that failed according to the standard EN 60436:2020+ EN 60436:2020/A11:2020. Performance testing is required for additional verification of the first test results of the model covering all the clauses to standard and will need to include that in the report as well as do the necessary arithmetic to work out the overall results. The aim is to determine the dishwasher's compliance with EU regulations listed below - in British Standards where applicable.  The Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information Regulations 2021 - UK Statutory Instruments 2021/745, and  Retained Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/2017 with regard to the Energy Information requirements for Dishwashers.
