Rainbow Programme Secure O365 - The Rainbow programme will define a new operating model for NS&I and is a critical priority for the business in order to prepare for, and deliver, the outsourced model post 2025. A secure document management and collaboration platform, entirely separate from the Atos-supported IT infrastructure, is required to facilitate Rainbow programme work. A solution separate from the Atos infrastructure is essential to avoid any potential conflict of interest related to the procurement activity. A secure cloud-hosted Microsoft Office 365 solution is the most effective fit to NS&I's operational requirements and is what has been utilised since the start of the transformation programme. As the Rainbow programme's timescales have been stretched, the provision of this service by the incumbent is still required and so a new contract has been direct awarded for 12 months.

Cresca AHRC Guildhall School Research - Real-Time Tracking System - GSMD are planning to establish a new Production Arts research facility in-house, in the increasingly important areas of digital performance and technologically enhanced immersive experience. A portable real-time tracking system capable of tracking objects and people in 3D space, suitable for use with projection and lighting technology will help carry out a series of creative research projects. GSMD research environment has grown rapidly; Production Arts is the one main area where lack of technological capability has so far held it back. In the increasingly important areas of digital performance and technologically enhanced immersive experience in particular, GSMD lack the necessary infrastructure. Planning is underway to establish a new Production Arts research facility in-house. This development will build on our existing extensive range of partnerships with small and medium-sized companies working in the UK creative industries, as well as with selected HE research partners. It will involve using existing spaces within our buildings to deploy largely portable state-of-the-art equipment to explore the research potential of visual effects and extended reality (XR, incorporating, variously, hyper-, augmented and virtual reality). We will use this equipment to carry out a series of creative research projects that explore technology's role in the future of production artistry. This will help: - provide access for performance makers and researchers inside the School to world-class technical facilities - facilitate access to the skills and knowledge of existing and additional industry partners, drawn in by the opportunity to benefit from our investment - establish a Performance Industry Centre for the Research and Application of Creative Technologies. - grow our research collaborations and exchanges with industry and other HEIs - internal collaboration between the Research department, Guildhall Live, and the new Electronic and Produced Music

WP3.5.2 Novel Techniques and Technologies for Incorporating Sensor Data into Digital Twins - As part of the LongOps project, it is required to develop de-risking virtual tools such as a digital-twin systems linked to a real system interacting directly with the real world. In order to maintain an accurate, up-to-date digital twin, it is necessary to sense the real environment in real-time using a variety of sensors of different types, to compile an accurate combined model of the environment virtually, and to present this information to the operator in the most effective manner. Due to the effects of radiation and other inherent qualities of sensing devices, the data retrieved is expected to be inexact. Characteristics such as noise, reliability, confidence interval, linearity, etc., may affect the estimation of the digital-twin state. UKAEA wishes to procure innovative solutions for the development of novel, cutting-edge sensor data integration and perception techniques to support the de-risking of operations using digital twins.

WP3.5.1 - Development of Datasets for Machine Learning - LongOps - As part of the LongOps project, it is required to develop decision support tools capable of helping de-risking operations and supporting training in teleoperated decommissioning tasks involving the detection and pose estimation of objects and debris within nuclear facilities. In recent years the use of Machine Learning (ML) techniques such as object detection, object classification, segmentation, semantic information extraction from images and videos, denoising, etc. has yielded important results in terms of visual and other sensory perception. However, this requires significant volumes of relevant, high-quality annotated data to achieve adequate levels of performance. UKAEA wishes to procure the collection, evaluation, processing, and annotation of data gathered from nuclear-related sites and/or similar scenarios. Such data consists primarily of 2D images and 3D point clouds, although other types of data such as temperature, radiation, pressure, etc. may also be considered. The annotated data will then be used to, but not limited to, train machine learning models to perform tasks such as, object detection and classification, semantic and instance segmentation, etc. In addition, this data will be used to develop, evaluate, and validate change detection and anomaly estimation algorithms.

GB-Newcastle Upon Tyne: RT Simulator for Large Scale Energy Systems - we need a real-time simulator that will have the capability to perform the real-time simulation of large-scale energy systems including renewable energy sources. Furthermore, the proposed platform should have the capability to integrate with the physical power engineering equipment (e.g., laboratory-scale power systems). Furthermore, the platform should be compliance with the standard communication protocol. The simulator should be capable to perform model-in-the-loop, rapid control prototyping, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and Power HIL applications.
