Glove Box Systems for Material and Device Processing and Testing - AWARD - The University of Manchester wishes to purchase controlled environment chambers, specifically gloveboxes, for handling air and moisture-sensitive materials in a controlled/inert environment and for fabricating and characterizing optoelectronic devices. The facility will promote innovation in sustainable electronics and showcase emerging manufacturing methods for the semiconductor industry. The facility will be housed within the Henry Royce Institute hub on the Manchester campus and provide support to academic partners and small to medium businesses in Greater Manchester and across the UK. The project aligns with the Royce Roadmap on Materials for Energy Transition and will introduce new technical capabilities to academic and industry partners in sustainable semiconductors, semiconductor manufacturing, optoelectronics, and advanced sensor technologies. The project aims to enable additional capability for developing sustainable optoelectronics and sensor technologies. The facility will enable material synthesis, device fabrication and comprehensive characterisation under chemically inert atmosphere conditions. Such stringent conditions are critical for removing/minimising the deleterious effect of oxidation and/or other unwanted chemical reactions, which typically compromise early-stage materials and device triage.

Biophysiological Suite - Final year project students, and postgraduate students, are increasingly interested in projects relating to biophysiological measurement. We require a range of equipment from static, to wearable long-term equipment for biophysiological measurement, including relevant IT hardware and software as complete packages or mini kits. This tender opportunity is for a basket of goods relating to the University of Salford Biosensor Suite for Biophysiological measurement and testing. The basket includes, GSR sensing devices, EEG devices, a Pupillometry system and entry level biomeasurement system bundles (e.g Mindfield eSense). The supplied hardware will require onsite installation. Further information and full basket of goods can be found on the ITT via Tender Portal here: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/salford/aspx/Home.

Provision of Endotoxin Assay Kits - HSE-SD has a strong international reputation for high-quality, published research and we collaborate worldwide through a network of formal and informal partnerships. We are a designated WHO Collaborating Centre for Occupational Health and Safety Research. In the Biohazards team in Science Division, we offer bacterial endotoxin analysis to support HSE research projects and as part of the commercial testing and analysis service for external customers. We require a frequent supply of Lonza Kinetic Chromogenic LAL Assay kits. The exact number of kits required is not known, nor are the details about when they will be required, as demand is dependent upon the active HSE research projects at a given time and the number of requests from external customers. In 2023/24 we purchased 16 kits and we expect demand to be similar going forwards, however there is no guarantee of future volumes. We are seeking a partner to supply Lonza Kinetic Chromogenic LAL Assay kits for endotoxin on an ad hoc basis. We require flexibility to be able to order a single kit or multiple kits from the same batch as demand requires.

Provision of Molecular Testing Kits (H.Pylori) - The project will involve testing approximately 3,000 stool specimens from patients testing positive for H. pylori antigen at the local microbiology laboratories. We will test the stool samples for clarithromycin resistance using the Seegene Inc. Allplex™ H Pylori + ClarR assay on a CFX96 thermocycler & optical viewer. These consumables will be directly used in a surveillance study to investigate the antimicrobial primary resistance pattern of Helicobacter pylori in the U.K.
