588 - Intranet - The replacement system must provide the current level of functionality. The Trust envisages four types of user: • User who views data and clicks on links • Administrators to set privileges etc • Content managers – who will manage the noticeboard or individual project or departmental sections, links to websites and any other textual content on the site • System developers who may take on functionality update work of the system • Remote user – staff who do not/rarely have access to computer to access the intranet on their handheld devices Deliverables must include sufficient documentation and handover such that BTUH staff can manage content, maintain the system and undertake any required development in the future. This means making more information available and easier to access • To brand the intranet with the input of key stakeholders (to be identified), including the Communications team • To have a good search facility and improved navigation • Allow collaborative working to foster communications between departments and peer groups that might not otherwise communicate. An intranet may host these discussions. • Allow content management by non-IT specialists • Allow easy addition of web pages and links • The content and links should be database driven • To ensure that the solution may be developed and supported by Trust resource(s) • User interface should be capable of customisation by user e.g. the intranet learns which features a user accesses the most • Provide shared access and management of documents • To migrate relevant current contents e.g. documents, reference tables, web links • To enable Telephone number lookup • Clinical Hub access • Document management for controlled and uncontrolled documents. This should include the ability to audit documents viewed by users (including date and time) • A fully mobile, social/collaboration intranet
