PD294-OPEN TENDER - INTERACTIVE TECHNICAL PLATFORM DEVELOPER (including games and augmented reality) - The Lanchester Interactive Archive (LIA) is an ambitious project intended to preserve and disseminate the heritage and astonishing achievements of Dr Frederick Lanchester (1868-1946) one of Britain’s greatest engineers and inventors. The Lanchester Collection held at Coventry University library is the biggest source of Lanchester information in the world. With the help of Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) we are seeking to digitise all his valuable collections, improve its presentation and provide greater access to it through a digital platform including serious games, augmented reality and a digital time-line. Through this project, the LIA team aim to give people a deeper appreciation of science and engineering and its increasing relevance to solving today's problems e.g. climate change and over-population. Through this project we hope to inspire and motivate people of all ages by ‘learning – through – fun’ a technical subject, which may lead to new educational opportunities, vocational training, volunteering or paid employment. We are looking for exciting proposals that will capture the imagination of users. The requirement is to develop the digital assets and build a platform that ties together the digital elements of the project through a website. The elements of the project are; 1. A responsive web portal that links to the search software for the archive, the serious games, the augmented reality assets/tools and outreach material and tools. 2. A digital timeline of Lanchester History. 3. Serious Games to demonstrate the engineering science behind Lanchester inventions/innovations. 4. Digital assets 5.
