Heritage Site Valuation Survey (Belsay Hall, Castle & Gardens) - AWARD - Introduction 1. Historic England invites organisations to submit tenders for undertaking a data collection for a contingent valuation study focused on Belsay Hall, a historic site based in Northumberland. The target demographic encompasses residents within the Tyne and Wear, County Durham and Northumberland. 2. The primary aim of this study is to quantify the economic and social value attributed by the community to the conservation of heritage sites, with a focus on understanding public perception and willingness to support preservation efforts. 3. Participating organisations are tasked solely with the execution of the survey. The responsibilities exclude the formulation of the questionnaire and the subsequent analysis of collected data, which will be undertaken by Historic England. 4. Historic England will design the questionnaire and then use the data collected to conduct the contingent valuation analysis. 5. The successful bidder will conduct a survey aimed at a representative sample of the aforementioned regions, aiming to capture comprehensive insights into the community's valuation of heritage site preservation. 6. The budget for this project is capped at ?15,000. Proposals will be evaluated based on their ability to deliver within this budget, focusing on the Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT) criteria. 7. Tenders should be submitted by the 13th of March 2024 by 16:00 with the project expected to end by June 30th, 2024. 8. This initiative seeks to enrich our understanding of the community's valuation of historic preservation

Future Bright Plus Final Programme Evaluation - The Future Bright Plus (FBP) service has run since March 2021 (final referrals to the scheme were 31st Jan 2024). The service has continued to build on the legacy of the DWP Employment Support Innovation pilot which ran from February 2018 to July 2021. The service supports mainly low income in-work residents in the West of England Combined Authority area to increase their confidence, motivation, wellbeing, skills and incomes. The project provides information, advice and signposting to all residents who contact the service supporting them on the road to career progression by identifying and making best use of the full range of local services available including appropriate West of England Combined Authority initiatives. Those who are in work are eligible to receive one to one coaching, the level of service, Light Touch or Full Service, is determined by individual circumstance (www.futurebright.org.uk ). The approach goes beyond training to identify and overcome a much wider range of barriers to career progression, tailoring support to the individual. The pilot demonstrated the need for a programme for low-income, in-work residents in the West of England as it provides a service for demographic not otherwise supported. The Future Bright Plus programme aimed to fill a gap in local provision with funding provided for three years from the West of England Combined Authority Investment Fund to kick-start career progression for residents. The purpose of this evaluation is to provide rigorous evidence that demonstrates the outcomes and impacts of the programme, including long-term benefits. The evaluation will also test whether the theory of change has functioned as expected and identify which were the most effective means of supporting individual in-work progression to inform policy in the future. Key outcomes for Future Bright Plus: • Increase in financial independence and income. • Increased work security or flexibility • Increased awareness of support available • Increase in skills and experience • Improvement in participants' attitude (motivation, confidence and job satisfaction) • Increase in health & wellbeing • Increased understanding on how in-work progression can be best supported in the future. Broader outcomes • Children benefiting from improvements to motivation, skills, prosperity and increased health and wellbeing of parent/ carer • Understanding this demographic • Reduction in public spend associated with benefits.

Geodiversity and Nature Recovery in the Black Country UNESCO Global Geopark - Nature Recovery is at the centre of the Government's Environmental Improvement Plan but the contribution of geodiversity to nature recovery is not yet fully valued or recognised and the opportunities that geodiversity offers have not been adequately explored. Alongside this, the opportunities to conserve and recover geodiversity as part of wider nature recovery activities have not been been fully realised. This project builds on the success of the Purple Horizons project, one of the first nature recovery pilot projects, that was based in the Black Country and, through partnership working, clearly demonstrated the value to biodiversity and to geodiversity of taking an integrated approach to nature recovery. We are seeking an individual/team who are experienced and knowledgeable about geodiversity and geoconservation and also have experience in exploring the relationship between biodiversity and geodiversity to produce a portfolio of four case studies, based around the Black Country. These should illustrate the benefits and value of integrating geodiversity into nature recovery and each case study should be focused on a different geo-site/group of sites and major on a different nature recovery theme. The expectation is that a detailed report should be produced for each case study that also includes maps and photos.
