Con_24070 Reducing Court Delays Delivery Partner FTS - DfE is seeking a Delivery Partner to deliver a new pilot from January 2024 to March 2025 aimed at reducing delays in the family justice (FJ) system by working with Local Authorities (LAs) in Designated Family Judge (DFJ) areas to develop and implement solutions to tackle the root causes of delay. The FJ system is one of the most complex and cross-system policy areas in children’s services. DfE holds responsibility for public law, covering all vulnerable children in England who require LA intervention. 2.3. Unacceptable delays in the family courts have been a long-standing issue for over 10 years. In 2011, the average case duration (for cases when a social worker (SW) determines that a child is at significant risk, so applies for an order) was c55 weeks, with some cases taking more than two years to conclude. This results in poorer outcomes for children and huge additional costs to LAs and the taxpayer. The estimated costs of the FJ system is £1.2bn , which equates to over 10% of all direct expenditure on the children’s social care (CSC) system (2019/20) .

The Lord Mayor's Show - Future Opportunities - The City of London Corporation (the City) invites Tenders for the provision of The Lord Mayor's Show - Future Opportunities. The office of Mayor of the City of London was created in the 12th Century, with the first Mayor taking office in 1189. The Lord Mayor is elected annually, and, on the second Saturday in November of each year (known as Lord Mayors Day), the incoming Mayor of the City of London travels from Mansion House to the High Court at the Royal Courts of Justice in the City of Westminster where he or she is presented before his Majesty's Judges and swears an Oath of Fealty to the Sovereign. Over the centuries, and now long standing custom and practice, a display of pageantry and public spectacle has developed around the journey, on Lord Mayors Day. This has become known as the Lord Mayors Show (the Show). In 2003, the Lords Mayors Show Ltd (the LMS Ltd/ the Company) was established, a company limited by guarantee, to organise, manage and deliver the Show including all civic and ceremonial aspects. The Show is an iconic and unique celebration of an annually occurring event, that represents and reflects our rich heritage, our privileged central City location/ Square Mile, and all the communities of people who live, work and visit. The Show brings together communities not only in person along the route, for the people who participate and/ or cheer the pageant and procession along its entire journey; but also people who view the show from a far and globally, as the Show is broadcast live by the BBC. We are now looking at creating a robust sustainable financial plan and model for the Show. The plan will look to capitalise on the Shows recognition, reach and tribute to tradition, whilst embracing and attracting an evolving and wider audience and stakeholders. The objective of commissioning this consultancy is to create a Future Opportunities Plan, that identifies and ranks opportunities, allowing us to consider each on its merits, feasibility, return.
