Healthy Start Vitamins - Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance Services - This is a notification that the Department is running an OJEU Open Procurement for the services described. - (for which see ITT ref number 60433).Interested suppliers need to register on the BMS system if they have not done so already. Details of registration can be found on the attached instructions document and link provided. The Secretary of State has a statutory responsibility to make Heathy Start Vitamins available for people who are entitled to them. The Department of Health (DH) arranges for the procurement of these vitamin products, which are purchased by local authorities and distributed to Healthy Start beneficiaries. Local authorities can claim reimbursement from the DH for the cost of the vitamins. The vitamin product for Healthy Start beneficiaries aged up to four - Healthy Start Children's Vitamin drops, are presently a licensed medicine and the Marketing Authorisation (MA) is held by the Secretary of State for Health. The product is a General Sale list licensed medicine and the MA reference is PL01511 / 0003. As the holder of the MA the Secretary of State has legal obligations to ensure compliance with licence requirements set out by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the European Union (EU). Failure to fulfil these legal obligations could result in the MHRA either suspending or withdrawing the MA for this product. This in turn would mean that the Secretary of State could not meet their responsibilities to make Healthy Start Vitamins available. The requirement for the Marketing Authorisation Holder (MAH) to have a qualified person with responsibility for pharmacovigilance services is described within the pharmacovigilance legislation (Regulation (EU) No 1235 / 2010 and Directive 2010 / 84 / EU). A legal obligation is therefore placed on the DH to meet the requirement for a qualified person (QP) who will be responsible for pharmacovigilance services. DH intends to outsource this function as described below. Bidders are required to refer to the procurement documentation for full details of the requirement. The Contract is expected to be for a period of up to 24 months, with extension options. See attached Procurement documents. DH reserves the right to not proceed to Contract for this requirement.

Provision of Sponsorship Agency Services - The Department for International Trade (DIT) wishes to contract with a specialist sponsorship agency in order to significantly raise DIT's sponsorship revenue. We are seeking support to attract commercial revenue for DIT events that DIT cannot attract itself. We are seeking: - To work with an agency that has existing relationships and access to companies that would be interested in sponsoring DIT events; - A simple agreement that allows our appointed agency freedom to operate in a way that generates best results for DIT (so for example, DIT will not specify the types of company that we will / will not work with). However, we expect our appointed agent to recognise the position of government and to act in a manner consistent with all of the responsibilities that government has. Please note that the intention is for a 12 month contract with an option to extend by up to an additional 12 months. The estimated contract value (£80k) is for the full 24 month period.

Emergency Medicines Buffer Stock (EMBS) Consultancy. - This is a notification that the Department is running a sub OJEU Open Procurement for the services described. - (for which see ITT ref number 60432,1).Interested suppliers need to register on the BMS system if they have not done so already. Details of registration can be found on the attached instructions document and link provided. This Invitation to Tender relates to the procurement by open sub OJEU tender to award a Contract for the provision of consultancy services for Emergency Medicines Buffer Stocks. DH is responsible for the security of supply of medicines and takes the lead in the prevention, mitigation and management of medicines supply problems within the UK. DH is also responsible for ensuring that plans are in place to prevent and respond to outbreaks of infectious disease and other threats to the health of the population including an influenza pandemic. In the event of a pandemic or other health emergency it is likely that medicines supply will be disrupted. Supply disruptions could put an additional burden on the health system. Medicines may not be available to treat people and patients relying on their regular medicines for existing conditions could be faced with a lack of availability of these medicines. This impacts the health of these patients but could also lead to more hospitalisations and potentially deaths during a time when the pressure on the NHS is already great. The threat of a severe pandemic remains real and a major government priority. This project has two separate deliverables: Deliverable 1: A reproducible methodology, using a MCDA-based approach, to populate and update a ranked list of essential medicines for inclusion within the Essential Medicines Buffer Stock, to support procurement Deliverable 2: A list of essential medicines for inclusion in the EMBS, ranked by the degree to which they are deemed essential, to satisfy various budget scenarios and a method for assessing their health benefits. Bidders are required to refer to the procurement documentation for full details of the requirement. The Contract is expected to be for a period of up to 8 weeks, with extension options. See attached Procurement documents. DH reserves the right to not proceed to Contract for this requirement.

P0398 - Sutton Coldfield Library - Concessionaire Opportunity - Market Sounding Exercise - Birmingham City Council is carrying out a market sounding exercise in respect of a potential opportunity to share space at Sutton Coldfield Library. Sutton Coldfield Library is situated in the heart of the shopping area of the town within the Red Rose Centre off the Lower Parade. It currently occupies the whole of the first floor of the building and is accessed via a lift or stairs. To date there are 30,109 registered members and over 60,000 items of stock. In 2016/17 the library issued nearly 50,000 items and had 91,700 visits. Various groups meet each week there including a Local History group; Family History group and the Tea and Biscuits Reading and Writing group. There are also activities for children including the Summer Reading Challenge, Story Times and craft sessions. Local history enquiries are answered using the extensive Local History and Archive Collections and the library is also a venue for the International Jazz festival each July. In order to be sustainable, Sutton Coldfield Library needs to bring its running costs down to a level that is much closer to the City average for running a library. One part of the plan to achieve this will focus on a third of the floor space on floor 1, ( approx. 8,000 sq. ft.), of the library, being shared with a partner who will deliver an operation that will be complimentary and sympathetic to the ongoing library function. Appropriate usage might be a coffee shop, café with play equipment or other similar facility although all innovative ideas for the space are welcome. Ultimately a successful proposal will maximise the income available from this space, reduce current operating costs and bring added value to the library services on offer. BCC will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this market sounding process and interested parties must register with the system to be able to express an interest. The web address is: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/birminghamcc Registration and use of In-tend is free. All correspondence for this procurement process must be via the In-tend correspondence function. If you are unable to register with In-tend please either email cps@birmingham.gov.uk or call 0121 464 8000. If you are interested in tendering please click on the following link to access Birmingham City Council's tender Portal: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/birminghamcc/ and submit your details to register as a bidder. We will send you a log on and password so you can download the questionnaire.
